Team Lead Institutional Fundraising
Rainforest Foundation Norway (RFN) is looking for a dynamic and experienced fundraiser to lead our passionate, ambitious, and skilled Institutions & Philanthropy team.
The team is responsible for the sustainable, absorbable growth of institutional funding for Rainforest Foundation Norway and for managing international and national relations with philanthropic and institutional donors.
Reporting directly to the Director of External Relations, you will play a crucial role.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic decisions and priorities, in line with the relevant framework and RFN’s strategy and in close collaboration with the other teams in the department.
Advises the department director and brings relevant issues and orientation to the senior management team and/or the board when needed.
Delivers results and ensures efficiency and collaboration through effective task division and clarity in roles and responsibilities within the team.
Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, development and effective people management within the team.
Ensures effective collaboration across teams to foster alignment in strategy implementation, funding integration within result management and organisational development processes (carefully considering the financial and human resources impact of mobilizing new funds), and an all-of-organization approach to institutional funding.
Ensures that the team’s activities comply with donor requirements and RFN policies, procedures, tools, standards, and processes,
Holds budget responsibility within approved annual budgets for the team and prioritizes (re-) allocation of resources to achieve set objectives and plans.
Ensures RFN’s unique added value and teams’ work are captured/reported, and disseminated to various donor constituencies in easy-to-digest, compelling ways.
Responsible for annual planning for the team and for contributing to planning in other units of RFN on relevant topics, covered by the team’s mandate.
Creates team spirit by embodying and dispersing RFN organizational culture, also for geographically distributed teams.

Skills & Requirements
Relevant higher education. All formal education can be compensated by relevant experience.
Minimum ten years of experience in a humanitarian/development or international organisation and/or a donor agency or foundation.
Advanced knowledge of the international public and philanthropic donor landscape and key international development, environment or climate processes.
Active networks in the climate, nature and environment, and human rights sectors are a plus.
Demonstrated experience of successful, large-size proposals with institutional donors (philanthropies, bilateral or multilateral development agencies, UN or similar).
Strong experience in facilitation and project management with a demonstrated ability to reach out, connect, bridge, gain acceptance and foster effective collaboration.
Proven experience in managing remote- multicultural- multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated experience of successful strategic communications, positioning (or) advocacy.
Demonstrated ability in building strong relationships with a diverse set of external partners and personnel, including conflict de-escalation and resolution.
Strong presentation skills and proven ability to profile and represent an organization.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Norwegian / “rainforest country languages” (Spanish, Portuguese, French or Bahasa Indonesia) are valued assets.
Leadership experience: Demonstrated ability to manage staff and organize work to reach set goals. Proven experience in finance/budget management and project management.
